New York City Beloved Newsstand Gets Reprieve from Shutdown

Daily News: A 52-year-old New York City newsstand that was in danger of being shuttered has emerged victorious from a lengthy legal battle with the Department of Consumer Affairs. A judge rebuked the DCA for trying to shut down Elizabeth Willis’ newsstand on Seventh Ave. and 50th St. over a claim she missed a permit payment.
