WWD: Cat Marnell, a former magazine editor and author, launched a column, BeautyShambles, on Patreon in November. Patreon has “changed my life,” she said. “It empowered me. I like Patreon, it’s much more visual. Because I have my magazine background, I like the images. Patreon, the term comes from patron of the arts, so it is more for the pictures. That’s why I didn’t do Substack.”
