Des Moines Register: Meredith is conducting more layoffs related to acquisitions the Des Moines-based publisher has made in the past year, a spokesman for the company confirmed. A spokesman said the layoffs affect fewer than 40 people. The company is going through a realignment it started due to a number of acquisitions it has made this past year, he said. “In order to maximize the potential of what we are building, ongoing realignment of our brands and resources is necessary, including how we deploy our workforce.”
