Politico Media: Incoming Daily News editor in chief Jim Rich has announced his first batch of appointments at the struggling tabloid. He also announced that the News has created a new “digital longform team” to be led by former Time Out New York editor in chief Joe Angio. The team will create “magazine-quality pieces on national and local issues” intended for a digital audience. Daily News editor and reporter Bruce Diamond will work under Angio as his deputy, and Andy Martino and Eric Barrow will join the longform team as senior writers.
