TheStreet: Time Warner’s announcement that it will begin offering a standalone streaming service of its HBO service to Apple to customers will likely remake the cable-TV landscape. The question is whether Time Warner will benefit. The question is how many cord cutters are willing to pay a price that is effectively twice what Netflix charges for a similar service. Plus, if a cable subscriber “cuts the cord” to sign up, that customer also cuts ties to cable channels including TNT, TBS and the Cartoon Network.
