ESPN President Suffers Injury During Disney Event

SportsBusiness Daily: ESPN president John Skipper ruptured his Achilles tendon while playing volleyball during Disney management meetings in Orlando, Fla. In a memo to employees, Skipper wrote, “Thanks to the ubiquity of mobile and email, I will stay fully engaged in our business.” Skipper wrote that he had a choice between playing basketball and volleyball during the meeting. “I chose volleyball because it seemed less risky … Clearly my risk assessment was not thorough enough.”
