Reuters: A decision by a U.S. appeals court could force Golf Channel to pay back a court-appointed receivership the $5.9 million it received from convicted swindler Allen Stanford’s Ponzi scheme, a receivership official said. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court decision that allowed Golf Channel to avoid paying back the money it received from Stanford’s firm to become the title sponsor of the St. Jude’s Championship in Memphis. The decision is said to allow the receivership to seek the money from Golf Channel.
