Puget Sound Business Journal: The Seattle Times plans to reduce its staff as part of 6 percent newsroom budget cut. Editor-in-chief Kathy Best informed the newspaper’s more than 200-person editorial staff of the cuts: “The Seattle Times is a business, albeit one with a strong public service mission. The Blethen family has made significant personal sacrifices to invest in the Times to help position us to maintain that mission for digital as well as print readers. Now we need to make sure the Times is profitable.”
