SoundCloud in Licensing Deal with Copyright Group

Financial Times: The UK’s largest copyright collective has agreed a licensing deal with music service SoundCloud — without waiting for a court ruling that could have enabled it to negotiate more aggressively with video site YouTube. PRS for Music, which represents about 100,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, had sued the Berlin-based start-up in August, saying that “five years of unsuccessful negotiations” left it with “no alternative.”
