Variety: Netflix has nabbed global rights to Hannah Fidell’s “6 Years” and plans to debut the drama on its streaming service later this year. The move continues the Internet giant’s aggressive recent forays into the feature film space. Earlier this month, it beat out a range of indie labels for rights to Cary Fukunaga’s feature “Beasts of No Nation” and announced plans to partner with Leonardo DiCaprio on a feature-length documentary about the environment.
