Disney World Lays Off Staff in Move to Control Costs

Orlando Sentinel: About 100 painters have been let go at Walt Disney World, according to a rep of the union that represents them. The layoffs came at the same time as reports that Disney World managers have become stricter about some workers’ hours and that certain attractions’ schedules are being tinkered with to control costs. Last week, parent company Disney reported record quarterly earnings that also included weakness at ESPN.
