McClatchy Cuts 74 Jobs as Newspapers Share Printing

Kansas City Star: The Wichita Eagle said it will move printing and packaging of its daily newspaper to the Kansas City Star in late May, a transfer that will eliminate the jobs of 74 full- and part-time workers. Both publications are owned by McClatchy. The Star already prints other Kansas newspapers, including the Lawrence Journal-World and Topeka Capital-Journal. The Eagle also said it will look for a buyer for its current offices and seek other space in downtown Wichita.
