Broadcasting & Cable: While a job in U.S. local television remains, for many, a dream, those posts aren’t always the prestigious stops they once were. With so many news and entertainment sources for viewers, the local station does not wield the clout it once did in a previous era. The recent recession caused widespread “right-sizing” of staffs and salaries — which are now the right size for owners way more than for some of their employees.
