Politico Media: Layoffs have hit the digital news site Salon. A spokeswoman said that six staffers were affected. Sources close to the company said that assistant managing editor Ruth Henrich and life editor Kim Brooks were among them. Henrich had been at Salon since the late 1990s. CEO Cindy Jeffers said that the layoffs were due to budget cuts. “We made the difficult decision to reduce our staff.”
