Hearst Plans to Convert San Francisco Building Into Hotel

SF Gate: The landmark Hearst office building at Third and Market streets, once the home of the San Francisco Examiner, would be converted to a luxury hotel under a plan the owners expect to submit to the city in the next few weeks. The 13-story, 120,000-square-foot building is 100 percent occupied, mostly by small businesses and nonprofits. Owner Hearst informed its tenants of the plan in a letter. The media company also invests in real estate and ranching.
