Barron’s: Disney CEO Bob Iger has reiterated his plans to retire in June 2018 despite likely wishes among some interested parties for him to extend his working years. Other than board members, nobody can be sure what the main criteria are for Iger’s replacement. What is known is that the board is “very actively engaged” in the succession process and believes there is ample time to identify a successor. “We consider the situation a risk factor given the importance of the leadership position at Disney and the challenges (such as cable network penetration and distribution) that exist.”
