Tribune Lays Off 200 Staff Amid Shift of IT Jobs Overseas

Computerworld: Tribune Publishing is laying off as many as 200 IT employees as it shifts work overseas. The firm, which owns the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and many other media properties, told IT employees that it will be moving work to India-based Tata Consultancy Services. Interestingly, the move comes within weeks of a similar announcement involving IT employees at McClatchy, another major newspaper chain.
