Time Inc’s xoJane Pulls Blog Post Celebrating a Suicide

Daily News: xoJane was forced to pull a blogger’s personal essay celebrating her mentally ill friend’s death amid a surge of backlash over its heartless tone. The Time Inc.-owned website yanked Amanda Lauren’s piece, entitled “My Former Friend’s Death Was a Blessing,” on Friday, less than 24 hours after it was published. With the subtitle, “Some people are so sick, they are beyond help,” the piece described Lauren’s falling out with a mentally ill friend.
