Hearst’s Town & Country Mag Names ’50 Modern Swans’

New York Post: Town & Country will publish in its September issue a list of today’s 50 modern swans — borrowing the avian term created by Truman Capote for his inner circle, which included Babe Paley, Slim Keith, Lee Radziwill and C.Z. Guest. But these days, the mag reports, “to be successful, most of these It girls can no longer afford to just sit still and look pretty.”
