Netflix’s ‘Crown’ to Usher In New Era of Content Spending

MarketWatch: “The Crown” is launching on Netflix this Friday, Nov. 4. The 10-episode series is the streaming giant’s most expensive to date. Produced by Sony Pictures’ UK-based production company, Left Bank Pictures, it racked up a reported $130 million in production costs. At $13 million per episode, on average, “The Crown” is right up there with the most expensive TV show ever.
