Time Warner, CBS Held Merger Talks Before Deal with AT&T

New York Post: CBS is said to have had reps meet with Time Warner about a possible get-together just weeks before AT&T announced it was buying the cable-TV and film conglomerate. CBS and Time Warner, which share NBA rights and ownership of the CW network, met over the summer to discuss interest in a merger.
