New York Post: Lawyers for HBO have pressed a federal judge to keep the jury from hearing just how profitable the pay-TV company is. HBO’s $1.8 billion in operating profits on $5.4 billion in revenue is not central to the case and would only bias the jury, the lawyers said. Sporting-goods maker Mitre Sports has sued the Time Warner-owned company, claiming its “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” show slimed it in 2008 by alleging the company turned a blind eye to child laborers stitching its soccer balls in India.
