Daily News: E! is said to be looking to restructure its news department, and wants to compete directly with TMZ on breaking news. Execs at the cable network, owned by NBC, are hoping to get a more “fast-paced” look and not just rely on E! News for their nightly roundup. “The network is shifting around the look,” said one insider. “They don’t know exactly what they are going for yet, but they want to be more like TMZ when it comes to stories going up faster and being updated as events unfold.”
