Detroit News: As part of wide-reaching cutbacks on a national scale at Fox Sports, all sportswriters at some locations are being let go. The websites in Fox Sports’ regional markets are expected to remain live, but there is no word what content will be featured or who will write it. “We’re shifting our digital strategy away from traditional editorial to focus more on producing short-form video content, which is more closely aligned with our core sports video business,” Fox Sports said in a statement. “As a result, we have made the decision to significantly reduce the use of freelance writers who have been contributing to our local websites.”
