Guardian: Lee Glendinning has been appointed as editor of Guardian U.S., having served as its deputy editor and head of news since late last year. She replaces Katharine Viner, who returned to the U.K. to take over as editor-in-chief of the Guardian this week following the departure of Alan Rusbridger. During Glendinning’s time at Guardian U.S., it has increased its audience to almost 30 million unique visitors, accounting for more than a third of the Guardian’s global readership. She has been closely involved with recent high-profile stories about U.S. police brutality including the Homan Square “black site” in Chicago and unrest in Baltimore.
