Wall Street Journal: Purch, the owner of a network of technology content and e-commerce websites, raised $135 million to fuel acquisitions, in one of the larger funding rounds for a digital-media operation in recent years. While many digital-media companies’ business models are built solely around advertising, Purch also generates revenue from e-commerce. Purch’s sites focus on product reviews across more than 1,000 categories and target consumers who are in the final stages of research before making a purchase, said CEO Greg Mason. The company took in just under $100 million in revenue last year and is on target to bring in more than $100 million in 2015, he said, which puts it on par with sites like BuzzFeed and the Daily Mail.
