Sydney Morning Herald: News Corp. will tighten its grip around Australia’s Ten Network through the sale of 15 percent of the broadcaster to Foxtel, which will take control of the network’s advertising business. Foxtel, which is owned by News Corp. and Telstra, will buy up to $77 million worth of shares at 15¢ a share, or about 15 percent of the company. Ten’s billionaire shareholders — Gina Rinehart, James Packer and Lachlan Murdoch — plan to buy shares in the raising. Murdoch has always maintained that his investment in Ten is separate from his involvement in News Corp. But the deal will give Foxtel and Murdoch a combined total stake of around 22 percent of Ten.
