Advance Forms New Newspaper Group in Southeast

Birmingham Business News: Alabama Media Group and NOLA Media Group will soon become part of a new regional media company. The two groups, which are both part of Advance Publications, are forming Southeast Regional Media Group — a regional media firm that will include Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. Tom Bates, president of Alabama Media Group, will remain in his position. Ricky Mathews, president of NOLA Media Group, will become president of the new company while staying in his role operating and publishing NOLA.com and the Times-Picayune.
