Wall Street Journal: Sequential Brands is nearing an agreement to buy Martha Stewart Living Omnimeda, in a deal that would mark the end of an independent publishing and housewares empire built by the domestic-style icon. A deal between Sequential, an acquisitive New York retail-licensing company, and Martha Stewart, could be announced in the coming days, according to people familiar with the matter. Terms that are being discussed couldn’t be learned. As with any merger negotiation, it’s possible the talks could break down before the companies reach an agreement.
