New York Post: Real estate mogul Steve Witkoff is said to be seeking drastic labor-cost reductions in his bid to take the Daily News off the hands of current owner Mort Zuckerman. One source said he was seeking to cut labor costs by 30 percent as a way to stem the estimated $30 million in annual losses. Despite the unions’ battle to avoid steep cuts, Witkoff is said to be working to hammer out a framework for a deal with the drivers and pressmen units, the two biggest trade unions.
