USA Today: Lee Daniels is doing some empire building at Twentieth Century Fox Television. The co-creator and executive producer of Fox’s “Empire” has signed a multi-year deal with Twentieth that calls for him to write, direct and supervise new projects while remaining as executive producer of “Empire,” a first-season smash hit that looks at a family that runs a huge hip-hop music company. The series, which stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, saw its ratings grow each week as it rose to the top of the TV ratings chart.
