New York Times, Fox News Websites ‘Fingerprint’ Online Users

Washington Post:  The New York Times and Fox News say fingerprinting is helping identify automated bots that might interfere with site operation. “We don’t use fingerprinting to track our readers,” says a Times spokeswoman. “The simple act of producing a fingerprint is not aggressive.”
