Lookout Local Debuts from Analyst to Serve ‘News Deserts’

New York Times: Ken Doctor has helped news industry execs for years as a media analyst. Now he plans to compete against a hedge-fund-owned newspaper with his own news start-up, Lookout Local. Its flagship site, Lookout Santa Cruz, will cover the California county where he lives.
