Fox’s Rupert Murdoch in Clash with Donald Trump

New York Times: Rupert Murdoch is no fan of Donald Trump’s bombastic business style and demeanor. “Phony” was how Murdoch often described Trump to friends. Recognizing that winning over Murdoch appeared unlikely, Trump set his sights instead on wooing perhaps the only media exec who wields as much firepower among Republicans: Roger Ailes, head of Fox News. Ailes has been given the freedom to operate largely outside Murdoch’s purview.
