Sky Video Service Aims to Take On Netflix in Europe

Broadcast: Sky is preparing to roll-out its Now TV OTT service across Europe, aggressively taking on Netflix in the online video space. The pay-TV broadcaster’s Now TV is currently available in five European markets – Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy and the UK – and CEO Jeremy Darroch revealed that it was now considering launching the digital streaming service TV in further countries. “There’s a good opportunity to potentially expand into new markets [in Europe] and that’s something that we’re thinking about over the coming months.”
