New York Times Opinion Alum Joins the Economist

Talking Biz News: James Bennet, the former editorial page editor at the New York Times, is joining The Economist. Bennet will be a visiting senior editor for one year. He starts on Feb. 1. Bennet resigned from the Times in June 2020 after it published a much-criticized op-ed by a US senator calling for a military response to civic unrest in American cities. He joined the Times in 2016 after a stint as editor in chief of The Atlantic from 2006 to 2016.
