Insider: Layoffs started hitting Bloomberg News on Thursday, with about 90 editorial employees expected to leave the company. The layoffs affected mostly editors and were global, including people in the Americas and EMEA. The organization has one of the world’s largest newsrooms. “I am not going to pretend today is a happy day for the newsroom,” said Bloomberg editor in chief John Micklethwait. “But it is also the start of a new chapter in our efforts to be the chronicle of capitalism.”
