Google Seen Unlikely to Pursue Takeover of Twitter

Re/code: Twitter’s stock sank to its lowest level ever on Monday, raising speculation that another company would move to take over the microblogging firm. But while it’s been an open secret that Google has kicked the tires on Twitter before, their last meaningful conversation is said to have been two years ago. Most importantly, Twitter does not crack the type of mammoth, earth-shattering problems Larry Page thinks Google should take on, according to people familiar with the CEO’s thinking.
