Crain’s New York Business: AOL, recently acquired by Verizon for $4.4 billion, has bought Kanvas Labs, a small midtown Manhattan startup, for an undisclosed sum. Kanvas provides an app that allows users to create, edit and share photos, audio and slow-motion videos via mobile devices. Founded in 2011 as the photo-sharing app Tracks, the startup changed its name in 2014 following the launch of its Kanvas app, which lets users combine assorted online images and media into shareable content.
